About the space:
Constructed in 1903, the historic building in Prague's Vršovice district, now the heart cultural centre of Petrohradská kolektiv, has transformed from its original roles as a mill, bakery, and later a chocolate factory, into a art cluster and safe space for artistic experimentation and expression. Emphasizing its commitment to contemporary art, the building is a sanctuary for artists to explore, innovate, and collaborate.
Since 2015, under the artist run initiative Petrohradská kolektiv, this space has been primarily dedicated to showcasing emerging contemporary artists. It houses 36 studios, where over 200 artists have delved into their creative processes. The building boasts an array of facilities including multiple workshop rooms, the community-oriented Klub Petrohradská, a photo and recording studio, a gallery, and resources for artist in residence program.
